Histological applications - New IsoSlide® control slides

Merck has launched a new range of products for histology laboratories.

ISOSLIDE^® control slides help optimise and standardise staining results by allowing typical control material to be compared with a laboratory’s own specimens. Furthermore, the stained specimen can be compared with a slide prepared according to the respective Merck procedure.

IsoSlide^® consists of a box of premounted paraffin section of suitable animal material containing structures of the test method to be employed.
This helps optimise and standardise staining results  and increases diagnostic certainty in the laboratory.
Each pack contains 25 slides, all from one batch and prepared from one paraffin block. One slide is stained with the Merck reference method and used as a reference standard. The remaining 24 slides can be stained according to the Merck protocol or with the laboratory specific method
The first Isoslide^® to launch is the IsoSlide^® Reticulin Control slides; applicable for the visualisation of reticular fibres using for example Merck’s Reticulin silver staining kit according to Gordon & Sweets (1.00251.0001)
