Collection of Empty Containers

VWR's process for collecting empty containers - Pre-book your collections

VWR will take back empty containers that have been pre-booked for collection. This service is provided free of charge.

Call our customer services team on 0800 22 33 44 for more information

VWR’S PRE-BOOK SERVICE IS AS EASY AS A, B, C

  1. Inform your usual contact at VWR's Customer Service Centre by telephone, fax, email or our webiste and let us know approximately how many drums or boxes of empty bottles you require to be collected.
  2. We will log your request and issue our transport company with documentation authorising them to collect the empty containers.
  3. The collection will be made within five working days. The containers will be picked up by the driver at your normal delivery location.

HOW SHOULD THESE EMPTY CONTAINERS BE RETURNED?

We can only accept back bottles and drums that were originally sourced from VWR International. Bottles and drums to be collected must be empty and purged or vented.

Empty bottles and drums must be returned with caps off  to clearly indicate they are non-hazardous. Bottles with caps on will be treated as hazardous waste and charged accordingly.

Unfortunately we cannot accept loose bottles. Please ensure that any empty containers booked for collection are ready at your normal delivery point when the vehicle arrives.

DUTY OF CARE: CONTROLLED WASTE TRANSFER NOTE

There are no changes to the requirements for Duty of Care: Controlled Waste Transfer Notes, in fact you will already be familiar with these documents if we currently collect empty containers from your site. Our carrier needs a Duty of Care in order to remove your empty bottles and drums. To obtain an annual Duty of Care declaration, please contact VWR’s Customer Service Centre on 0800 22 33 44 or uksales@vwr.com. Please provide a contact name, email address and collection address and we will send across the relevant Duty of Care paperwork for completion.
