Description: RAD17 is highly similar to the gene product of Schizosaccharomyces pombe rad17, a cell cycle checkpoint gene required for cell cycle arrest and DNA damage repair in response to DNA damage. This protein shares strong similarity with DNA replication factor C (RFC), and can form a complex with RFCs. This protein binds to chromatin prior to DNA damage and is phosphorylated by ATR after the damage. This protein recruits the RAD1-RAD9-HUS1 checkpoint protein complex onto chromatin after DNA damage, which may be required for its phosphorylation. The protein encoded by this gene is highly similar to the gene product of Schizosaccharomyces pombe rad17, a cell cycle checkpoint gene required for cell cycle arrest and DNA damage repair in response to DNA damage. The phosphorylation of this protein is required for the DNA-damage-induced cell cycle G2 arrest, and is thought to be a critical early event during checkpoint signaling in DNA-damaged cells. Eight alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene, which encode four distinct proteins, have been reported.

Description: YEATS4 is found in the nucleoli. It has high sequence homology to human MLLT1, and yeast and human MLLT3 proteins. Both MLLT1 and MLLT3 proteins belong to a class of transcription factors, indicating that the encoded protein might also represent a transcription factor. This protein is thought to be required for RNA transcription. This gene has been shown to be amplified in tumors.

Description: ATOH8 Antibody: Basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) transcription factors play important roles in differentiation processes during embryonic development of vertebrates. ATOH8 (MATH6) is a tissue-restricted member of the atonal superfamily of bHLH transcription factors that exhibits 43-57% identity in the bHLH domain with other mammalian atonal paralogs including the NeuroD and Neurogenin factors. In the mouse, ATOH8 has been implicated in the specification and differentiation of neuronal cell lineages in the brain and may also participate in kidney development. Recent studies show that ATOH8 is a novel component of the pancreatic transcriptional network during embryonic development and suggest a potential role as a modulator of the differentiation program initiated by the pro-endocrine factor Neurog3. It is indispensable for early embryonic development, suggesting a more widespread function for this factor in tissue-specific differentiation processes that are dependent on class II bHLH genes.

Description: ApoA1 Antibody: Apolipoprotein A1 (ApoA1) is the major protein component of high density lipoprotein (HDL) in plasma. ApoA1 is synthesized in the liver and small intestine and promotes cholesterol efflux from tissues to the liver for excretion. It is a cofactor for lecithin cholesterolacyltransferase (LCAT), the enzyme responsible for the formation of most plasma cholesteryl esters. Defects in ApoA1 are associated with HDL deficiency, Tangier disease, and systemic non-neuropathic amyloidosis.

Description: GNPDA1 Antibody: Glucosamine-6-phosphate deaminase (GNPDA) is an allosteric enzyme that catalyzes the reversible conversion of D-glucosamine-6-phosphate into D-fructose-6-phosphate and ammonium. GNPDA1 is one of two mammalian glucosamine-6-phosphate deaminases that are thought to have arisen though gene duplication, with the GNPDA2 protein closer in structure and activity to the E. coli enzyme. GNPDA1 possesses greater affinity for ammonium than either GNPDA2 or the E. coli enzyme suggesting that the forward reaction of D-glucosamine-6-phosphate into D-fructose-6-phosphate and ammonium is catalyzed at a slower rate than GNPDA2.

Description: LRFN2 Antibody: LRFN2 is one of a family of five transmembrane glycoproteins that are highly expressed in neuronal tissues. LRFN proteins share leucine-rich repeat (LRR)-immunoglobulin-like (Ig)-fibronectin type III (Fn)-transmembrane domain structure with other members of the LRR-Ig-Fn protein superfamily such as the Slitrk family of proteins. Expression of LRFN1, -3, and -4 mRNA was detected in embryonic neuronal cells, while Lrfn2 and Lrfn5 expression was primarily restricted to more mature cells. LRFN1, -2, and -4 bound to PDZ domains of postsynaptic PSD95, re-distributing PSD95 to the cell periphery. It has been suggested that the Lrfn proteins play a role in the developing and/or mature vertebrate nervous system.

Description: SIGLEC15 Antibody: Siglecs are vertebrate cell-surface lectins that recognize sialylated glycans and are involved in many physiological processes, such as glycoprotein turnover, cellular trafficking, and pathogen recognition. Most Siglecs are expressed on cells of the immune system. SIGLEC15 is a type-I transmembrane protein consisting of two immunoglobulin (Ig)-like domains, a transmembrane domain containing a lysine residue, and a short cytoplasmic tail. SIGLEC15 can interact with the activating adaptor molecules DAP12/10. Its activating signaling potential and unique preference for glycan recognition implies that SIGLEC15 may be involved in the immune surveillance of tumors and probably plays a conserved, regulatory role in the immune system of vertebrates.

Description: RNASET2 Antibody: RNASET2 is a novel member of the Rh/T2/S-glycoprotein class of extracellular ribonucleases. It is a single copy gene that maps to 6q27, a region associated with human malignancies and chromosomal rearrangement, and has been suggested to function as a tumor suppressor protein. Its expression is suppressed in Human T-cell Leukemia Virus type 1 (HTLV-1) infected cells following the binding of the HTLV-1 Tax protein to the RNASET2 promoter. As Adult T-cell leukemia (ATL) is one of the primary diseases caused by HTLV-1 infection, a reduction in the level of RNASET2 by Tax may play a role in ATL development.

Description: FOXRED2 Antibody: FOXRED2, also known as ERFAD, is an endoplasmic reticulum (ER) luminal flavoprotein which may function in ER associated degradation (ERAD). It has been proposed to bind non-native proteins in the endoplasmic reticulum and target them to the ubiquitination machinery for subsequent degradation. Upon knockdown of FOXRED2, the degradation of the ERAD model substrate ribophorin 332 is delayed, and the overall level of polyubiquitinated cellular proteins is decreased. Defects in the related protein FOXRED1 are a cause of mitochondrial complex I deficiency (MT-C1D), suggesting the FOXRED2 may also play a role in MT-C1D.
