Description: Brilliant Blue R concentrate is a methanol based stain especially designed for staining protein in polyacrylamide but will also stain agarose gels. The stain contains methanol and acetic acid so gels do not require fixing prior to staining. Brilliant Blue R Concentrate has been used for protein band detection after nondenaturing gradient gel electrophoresis, isoelectric focussing and SDS-PAGE (sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis). For detection of protein bands following electrophoresis.

Description: Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate (SDS) is an anionic detergent with applications in SDS-PAGE protein analysis and nucleic acid purification. It is a wetting agent that is effective in both acid and alkaline solutions, and is most often used as a protein and lipid solubilization reagent. SDS is also a powerful protein denaturant. This 10% solution is prepared in 18 megaohm water and is 0.2µm filtered.

Description: Brilliant Blue R (C.l. 42660) is a triaminotriarylmethane dye with two amino groups being benzylated and one phenylated. It is also known as brilliant indocyanine 6B and coomassie blue R250. Brilliant Blue R has been widely used for protein band detection after SDS-PAGE (sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis).

Description: 2,2-Azino-bis-(3-ethyl-benzthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS) has been used as a chromogenic substrate for horseradish peroxidase (HRP), both in general activity assays and in ELISA applications. Activity of HRP using ABTS appears about four-fold higher than using pyrogallol. It is mainly used as a substrate in sensitive peroxidase assays.
2,2′-Azino-bis(3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) is a peroxidase substrate suitable for use in ELISA procedures. This substrate produces a soluble end product that is green in color and can be read spectrophotometrically at 405 nm. The reaction may be stopped with 1% sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS). Recommended for ELISA (microwell) procedures, not recommended for membrane applications.
