Supplier: MP Biomedicals
Description: Sodium 1-heptanesulfonate is a commonly used ion pairing reagent for HPLC, including analyses of peptides and proteins. It has also been used in high performance capillary electrophoresis analysis of peptides.

Catalog Number: (786-411)
Supplier: G-Biosciences
Description: Insect PE LB™ has been developed for extraction of total biologically active, soluble proteins from adherent or suspension cultured insect cells, including Sf9 and Sf21. Insect PE LB™ utilises a mild non-ionic detergent and a proprietary combination of various salts and agents to enhance extraction and stability of proteins. The Insect PE LB™ is fully compatible with downstream processes, such as electrophoresis and chromatography. Depending on the required downstream application, additional agents such as reducing agents and protease inhibitors may be added into Insect PE LB™.

Description: PhastSystem is a multi-tasking, semi-automated electrophoresis workstation that runs up to two gels, under the same conditions within a separation and control unit, while staining up to two gels in a development unit. PhastSystem consists of a separation-control unit for system control and electrophoresis, and a development unit for gel staining. The optional PhastTransfer Kit quickly converts the system into a semi-dry blotting unit. Electrophoresis is performed on a thermostatic plate capable of maintaining temperatures accurately from 0 to 70 °C. Multistep programming capability allows gels to be prerun, loaded, and run automatically. Controlled parameters include temperature, voltage, current, power, and volt-hours. The stainless steel development unit is capable of processing two gels simultaneously at temperatures from ambient to 50 °C. Up to nine different reagents can be used in a single processing program. The combination of PhastSystem with PhastGels and buffer strips provides an integrated system of unsurpassed quality, flexibility, and reproducibility with a minimum of manual involvement. A substantial list of applications testifies to the utility of PhastSystem.

Supplier: MP Biomedicals
Description: Tris and Tris Hydrochloride have been useful as buffers in a wide variety of biological systems. Uses include pH control in vitro and in vivo for body fluids and in buffering systems for electrophoresis applications.

Supplier: MP Biomedicals
Description: Storage: Store at Room Temperature (15 - 30 °C)
Glycerol is used both in sample preparation and gel formation for polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. Glycerol (5-10%) increases the density of a sample so that the sample will layer at the bottom of a gel’s sample well. Glycerol is also used to aid in casting gradient gels and as a protein stabilizer and storage buffer component. Glycerol is used in the concentration and storage of enzymes. Also prevents back-diffusion and protein samples into the buffer. Ideal for use as a cryoprotectant.

Description: DL-Dithiothreitol is also known as Clelands reagent; Protective agent for sulfhydryl groups (-SH). Quantitatively reduces disulfides (-S-S- to -SH). In this reaction the DTT is oxidized to the cyclic disulfide which ensures the reduction of other disulfides in solution. Disulfide reduction occurs quickly at pH 8.
Dithiothreitol is useful for stabilizing sulfhydryl containing enzymes. Effective in sample buffers for reducing protein disulfide bonds prior to SDS-PAGE. DTT can also be used for reducing the disulfide bridge of the cross-linker N,N'-bis(acryloyl)cystamine to break apart the matrix of a polyacrylamide gel. DTT is less pungent and is less toxic than 2-mercaptoethanol.
Useful for stabilizing sulfhydryl-containing enzymes.

Supplier: Cytiva
Description: The 2-D Clean-Up Kit is designed to prepare samples for 2-D electrophoresis that otherwise produce poor 2-D spot-maps due to high conductivity, high levels of interfering substances, or low protein concentration. The reagents quantitatively precipitate proteins while leaving interfering substances, such as detergents, salts, lipids, phenolics, and nucleic acids, in solution.

Supplier: Thermo Fisher Scientific
Description: Thermo Scientific Pierce coomassie brilliant blue dyes are composed of one of the most common forms of coomassie dye, which is a key component of various colorimetric protein gel stains. Coomassie R-250 and G-250 dyes are two chemical forms of a disulphonated triphenylmethane compound that is commonly used as the basis of stains for detection of proteins in gel electrophoresis and bradford-type assay reagents for protein quantitation. The R-250 (red-tinted) form lacks two methyl groups that are present in the G-250 (green-tinted) form, which is also called colloidal coomassie dye.
