Description: Mono-ADP-ribosylation is one of the posttranslational protein modifications regulating cellular metabolism (e.g. nitrogen fixation) in prokaryotes. Mono-ADP-ribosylation is a process in which the ADP-ribose moiety of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide is transferred to an acceptor amino acid. Five mammalian ADP-ribosyltransferases (ART1-ART5) have been cloned, and expression is restricted to tissues such as cardiac and skeletal muscle, leukocytes, brain and testis. ART3 (ADP-ribosyltransferase 3), also known as Ecto-ADP-ribosyltransferase 3, is a testis specific membrane protein that does not appear to have ADP-ribosyltransferase activity. It lacks the R-S-EXE active site motif and is therefore unable to catalyze the reaction. ART3 is predominantly found in spermatocytes and may play a role in spermatogenesis.

Catalog Number: (BOSSBS-6023R-FITC)
Supplier: Bioss
Description: Bone marrow stromal cell antigen 1 (BST1) is a pleiotropic ectoenzyme which belongs to the CD38 family and to the growing number of leukocyte surface molecules known to act independently as both receptors and enzymes. The BST1 molecule displays two distinct domains in its extracellular component. The first is implicated in the enzymic activities of the molecule (it synthesizes cyclic ADP-ribose, a second messenger that elicits calcium release from intracellular stores) and the second domain has adhesion/signalling properties.Bone marrow stromal cell antigen 1 facilitates pre-B-cell growth. The deduced amino acid sequence exhibits 33% similarity with CD38. BST1 expression is enhanced in bone marrow stromal cell lines derived from patients with rheumatoid arthritis. The polyclonal B-cell abnormalities in rheumatoid arthritis may be, at least in part, attributed to BST1 overexpression in the stromal cell population.

Functionally, ART5 is implicatetd to play a role in cell signaling and metabolism cascades. Two isoforms of ART5 exist as a result of alternative splicing events.

Catalog Number: (PRSI91-645)
Supplier: ProSci Inc.
Description: Ribose-Phosphate Pyrophosphokinase 2 (PRPS2) is a phosphoribosyl pyrophosphate synthetase that belongs to the ribose-phosphate pyrophosphokinase family. PRPS2 is a homodimer. The active form is probably an hexamer composed of three homodimers. PRPS2 catalyzes the synthesis of phosphoribosylpyrophosphate (PRPP) that is essential for nucleotide synthesis. PRPS2 catalyzes the synthesis of 5-phosphoribosyl 1-pyrophosphate from ATP and D-ribose 5-phosphate. In addition, PRPS2 plays a central role in the synthesis of purines and pyrimidines.
