Thermostatic baths for viscosity measurement, clear-view thermostats, Proline
Baths Viscometer Baths
The Clear-view thermostats are designed for direct observation of objects under temperature control and are thus particularly suitable for viscosity measurement.

  • Large front and back window panels
  • Choice of models to suit different ranges of temperature requirements - all with consistent temperature stability
  • Bath vessel made of stainless steel with handles and drain tap
  • Choice of thermostat, either Master or Command versions

The viscosity of Newtonian liquids is extremely dependent on temperature. Depending on the measurement medium, a deviation of 0,5 to 2% can be expected for a temperature deviation of ±0,1 °C, therefore a stable thermostatically controlled bath is recommended for accurate, reproducible viscosity measurement.

The PVL models have five layers of insulating glass and are suitable for low temperatures down to −60 °C. To achieve rapid response to a selected temperature change near ambient temperature and achieve temperatures below ambient a Lauda add-on cooler is required* see chapter 461.

Master Thermostats:
LED display with 0,01 °C resolution
Simple three- key operation with audible/visual alarms for over-temperature and bath levels
Simple temperature probe calibration
Up-gradable at a later date by addition of the Command module

Command Thermostats:
The Proline Command thermostat is an additional module that can be easily mounted on the Master module or be used for remote operation - up to 50 metres from bath. It provides the following additional features:
Fixed temperature; the user can select and edit 8 temperatures
Programmable control timer (real time clock) with storage of up to 150 temperature/time segments, each of which can be divided into 5 programs
Data input via either cursor keys or numerical soft keys
Back-lit multi-graphic display with clear text messages or temperature curves
Integrated opto-decoupled RS232/485 interface as standard
