A Zero Waste Box™ is a complete and convenient solution which includes the storage, shipping, and recycling of a particular type of waste that isn't currently recycled through local councils or traditional recycling facilities.
- Reduce the amount of waste that you send to landfill or incinerate
- Recycle the non recyclable and reduce your carbon footprint
- Improving your organisation's sustainability can boost your corporate image and improve employee engagement and satisfaction
Use this Zero Waste Box™ to recycle Laboratory PPE and plastics:
• Disposable PPE (face masks*, gloves, garments, beard nets, disposable shoe covers, earplugs, hair nets)
• Protective eyewear (safety glasses)
• Rigid lab plastics
• Flexible lab plastics
• Disinfectant wipes
*We accept all types of disposable face masks made from plastic, such as dust masks, FFP2 (or so-called 'N95'), FFP3 and surgical masks.
How it works:
• Order - select a Zero Waste Box™ based on what and how much you would like to recycle.
• Collect - fill the box with the accepted waste and seal the box with adhesive tape.
• Ship - using the pre-paid UPS shipping label affixed to the back of the box, send the filled box to TerraCycle® for recycling. UPS requires a minimum of 24 hours notice and does pick-ups Monday to Friday between 9 am and 5 pm. Pick-ups can be arranged online at ups.com/gb or by telephone on 03457 877 877. All shipments are carbon-neutral, meaning that carbon emissions released during transport will be offset.
• Reorder - continue to recycle and reorder a new Zero Waste Box™. The collected waste will find a second life as recycled materials, reducing the need to extract virgin materials and depleting resources.
Everything collected through the Zero Waste Box™ system is sorted and processed into raw materials that can be reused instead of being sent to landfill.
Certifications: TerraCycle® will not landfill or incinerate any of the waste received. An annual waste transfer note is required for waste originating from a commercial activity in the UK. Check our guide in the documentation on how to fill in a TerraCycle® waste transfer note.
