The hMSC Chondrogenesis Induction Medium is a sterile liquid culture medium specifically designed for initiating chondrogenic differentiation in human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs). This medium is provided as a basal formulation and becomes fully functional for hMSC culture upon the addition of all the required supplement mix components.
- Formulation is meticulously optimised to support the initial seeding of 6000 cells/cm² up to confluence (approx. 90%)
- Medium does not require the use of feeder-layers, matrix substrates, or any additional substances
- This streamlined approach provides a well-defined and controlled culture system
- Promotes efficient and successful chondrogenic differentiation of hMSC
Due to the possibility of reduced proliferative activity, we recommend to use the antibiotic supplement for freshly isolated cells only. All components undergo rigorous testing in a stringent biological assay. Each batch is specifically examined for the proliferating characteristics of human hMSC chondrogenesis. The cells cultured in the hMSC chondrogenesis induction medium are thoroughly assessed for their morphology, adherence rate, colony-forming efficiency, and population doubling time.
Storge: After adding 10 ml HEPES and optional 3,5 ml antibiotics to the hMSC Chondrogenesis Induction Medium basal, it can be stored in the dark at 4 to 8 °C for up to 4 weeks. Once the induction supplement components 1, 2, and 3 are added, the medium can be stored for up to 1 week under the same conditions. Each aliquot is designed for preparing 50 ml of hMSC Chondrogenesis Induction Medium.
To prepare 50 ml of the induction medium, add 500 µl each of ITS, Dexamethasone, Sodium pyruvate, Ascorbic-acid-2-phosphate, and Proline to 50 ml of the basal medium (already supplemented with HEPES). Always add 500 µl of TGF-ß-3 freshly (as per recommended application). Avoid using the supplemented media for more than one week (without TGF-ß-3). Do not exceed 37 °C during heating or use uncontrollable heat sources such as microwaves. When using only a portion of the medium, extract the required amount, and heat it accordingly.
