3M Speedglas have been conducting extensive research into designing a welding helmet that is constructed to be reliable and extremely adaptable to a welder’s needs and situation. The result of their research is the G5-01 Welding Helmet. Built for heavy-duty, high-amperage welding and grinding, the G5-01 Welding Helmet connects to the 3M Adflo Powered Air Respirator to deliver TH3-rated protection.
The G5-01 has two auto-darkening filter options, both with 3M Speedglas natural colour technology, with greater clarity before, during and after welding. Both filters are also designed to minimise eye strain when switching from a dark to a light state, by using an intermediate shade (5 or 7).
With its smart, compact design, the 3M™ Adflo™ Powered Air Respirator is specially designed to meet your welding needs. Its continuous airflow provides filtered air that takes much of the heat and sweat out of welding. By using the Adflo respirator, you get both increased protection and comfort all day long.
Both of the new G5-01 auto-darkening welding filters (ADFs) feature the popular 3M Speedglas Natural Colour Technology for more realistic colour in the light state. And the G5-01VC (Variable Colour) model lets users select a warm, standard, or cool colour preference.
With the helmet’s new duct system, users can direct the airflow to either their face (1) or visor (2), as well as the amount of air coming from the top outlet (3) vs. the two side outlets(4). With greater control over personalised settings, users can balance the airflow’s cooling effect while minimising flows that might dry out their nose or eyes.
This flip-up functionality allows you to seamlessly switch between welding and grinding tasks while maintaining powered air respiratory protection. The clear visor also allows you to set up, inspect and move around the workpiece without the need to remove the face protection or break the positive pressure respiratory seal.
Designed for heavy-duty high-amperage welding and grinding, the G5-01 welding helmet connects to the 3M Adflo PAPR system to provide TH3-rated respiratory protection (APF 4'0). The robust Adflo respirator provides all the features expected in a premium system, including ease of use.
