Zero Waste Box™ Recycling Solution for Centrifuge Tubes and Rigid Lab Plastics
Boxes Waste Disposal Boxes
A Zero Waste Box™ is a complete and convenient solution which includes the storage, shipping and recycling of a particular type of waste that isn’t currently recycled through local councils or traditional recycling facilities.

  • Reduce the amount of waste that you send to landfill or incinerate
  • Recycle the non recyclable and reduce your carbon footprint
  • Improving your organisation's sustainability can boost your corporate image and improve employee engagement and satisfaction

Use this Zero Waste Box to recycle: Any brand and type of rigid lab plastics such as, centrifuge tubes, plastic bottles, trays, vials, beakers, plastic spatulas, and pipette tips (please remove any filters).

Do not send in: Tubes and rigid lab plastics that are contaminated with bodily fluids and materials considered hazardous or dangerous; autoclaved material; hazardous waste (sharp, flammable, reactive, corrosive, ignitable, toxic, infectious, or pathogenic) which presents a danger to the environment or people; batteries, pressurised canisters, broken glass, and medical waste.

Important: We do not collect any hazardous waste containing substances with toxic, reactive, corrosive, infectious, flammable, explosive properties, or harmful to human health and the environment. Please make sure that you do not mix hazardous waste with non-hazardous waste. As the waste producer, it is your responsibility to classify the waste.

How it works:
• Order - Select a Zero Waste Box™ based on what and how much you would like to recycle.
• Collect - Fill your box with the accepted waste and seal the box with adhesive tape.
• Ship - Using the pre-paid UPS shipping label affixed to the back of each box, send the filled box to TerraCycle® for recycling. UPS requires a minimum of 24 hours notice and does pick-ups Monday to Friday between 9 am and 5 pm. Pick-ups can be arranged online at ups.com/gb or by telephone (03457 877 877). All shipments are carbon-neutral, meaning that carbon emissions released during transport will be offset.
• Reorder - Continue to recycle and reorder a new Zero Waste Box™. Your collected waste will find a second life as recycled materials, reducing the need to extract virgin materials and depleting resources.

Everything collected through the Zero Waste Box™ system is sorted and processed into raw materials that can be reused instead of being sent to landfill.

Cardboard boxes are made from 84% recycled material. Box container and liner are 100% recyclable.

Certifications: TerraCycle® will not landfill or incinerate any of the waste we receive. An annual waste transfer note is required for waste originating from a commercial activity in the UK. Check our guide in documentation on how to fill in your TerraCycle® waste transfer note.

Caution: Do not send in any item that has come in contact with substances classified as hazardous waste e.g., sharp, flammable, reactive, acidic, poisonous, corrosive, ignitable, toxic, infectious or pathogenic or material contaminated with blood which presents a danger to the environment, or to people.
