Cytoplasm staining of mature and keratinized cells in cytology
The cytological staining technique developed by Papanicolaou is still the standard method in cancer and hormone cycle diagnosis. The effect of the orange staining solution is considerable in smears with keratinized cells under acidic pH conditions, when the obvious orangeophilic cytoplasmic stain is recognizable and may point to the presence of hyperkeratosis, HPV infection or carcinoma cells. Papanicolaou's solution 2b, Orange II solution gives a intense reddish staining result with mature and keratinized squamous cells. Papanicolaou's solution 2a, Orange G solution gives a gentle yellow-orange staining result with mature and keratinized squamous cells. A 500 ml bottle is sufficient for 1500 to 2000 stainings. It is registered as IVD and CE product.
