Human CD34+ stem/progenitor cells from cord blood
Cells
CD34+ cells are isolated using positive immunomagnetic cell separation procedures from umbilical cord blood. Human cord blood is collected aseptically at the time of delivery from healthy pregnant women under institutional review board (IRB) approved procedures.

  • Purity >90% by flow cytometry
  • Test negative for HIV, HTLVI/II, HCV, HBV, WNV, syphilis, CMV, NAT, NAT WNV and Chagas
  • Cryopreserved in CryoStor® CS10 media

CD34+ stem cells are multipotent and can give rise to all cell types in blood. CD34 cells are most known for its expression on hematopoietic progenitor cells found in bone marrow and cord blood. While compromising only 1.5% of bone marrow mononuclear cell population, CD34 stem cells are responsible for all lymphohematopoietic lineages, and are now commonly used clinically as they have been shown to provide long term durable donor-derived host lymphohematopoietic reconstitution.

Storage: Either prepare cells for long term storage in liquid nitrogen vapour phase or thaw for use. Storage in liquid phase nitrogen is NOT recommended. Short term storage of cells (less than 2 weeks) at –80 °C is acceptable, but should be minimised to ensure maximum stability. Once thawed, samples must be used immediately.

Caution: Intended for research use only and not for direct therapeutic or diagnostic use in human or animals, or for further manufacturing of therapeutic products or devices.
