N-(1-Naphthyl)ethylenediamine, dihydrochoride is used for colorimetric determination of sulfonamide in blood. It is used for spectrophotometric determiniation of nitrite and nitrate.
It is also used as a coupling agent for the spectrophotometric determination of aminophenols, phenylenediamines, dinitroanilines, chloroanilines, thiols, and sulfonamides.
Soluble in water (20 mg/ml - almost clear, colorless to slightly yellow solution) and 25 mg/ml, EtOH.
