Pilocarpine hydrochloride is used in neuroscience and opthamology research. It is a parasympathomimetic agent with activity similar to that of acetylcholine.
Soluble in water (100 mg/ml) with heat as needed, yielding a clear, colourless solution. It is also soluble in alcohol and slightly soluble in chloroform.
