Poly-prep slides are made of glass and designed for cell adhesion. The slides are coated with Poly-L-Lysine, a non-specific attachment factor for cells useful in promoting cell adhesion on solid substrates. Poly-L-lysine enhances binding between the cell membrane and the cultured surface.
- Poly-Prep Slides are used:
- To mount liver and lung cell sections and mounted on poly-prep slides
- To prove better cell adhesion in clinical bronchoalveolar lavage fluid samples
- To determine pAkt (alpha serine/threonine-protein kinase) expression by immunohistochemistry
- In immunofluorescence imaging of nuclear translocation of nuclear factor κB(NFκB) in A549 cells
- To study the phospholipase C-zeta activity of sperm
- To prepare coelomocytes smears, which were further subjected to antibody staining
- Hematology, histology
Overall, glass slides coated with poly-L-lysine for tissue section adhesion in routine histological uses. And, it is not recommended for cell culture or microarray applications.
