Human mobilised peripheral blood, Leukopak
Cells
A Leukopak is an enriched leukapheresis product collected from normal peripheral blood. It is composed of a variety of blood cells including monocytes, lymphocytes, platelets, plasma, and red cells. A leukopak contains a higher concentration of cells as compared to standard venipuncture collection methods or buffy coat products.

  • Test negative for Hepatitis B, C, HIV, HTLV, HCV/HBV, WNV, Trypanasoma cruzi, and Syphilis

Leukopaks from mobilised peripheral blood are collected from healthy human donors under IRB approved informed consent by leukapheresis using the COBE® Spectra or Spectra Optia® Apheresis System MNC collection protocol. Donors are injected with a combination of Mozobil® and G-CSF (Neupogen® - FDA approved), which stimulates the bone marrow to produce a large number of hematopoietic and progenitor stem cells and mobilises them into the peripheral blood stream. Mozobil® alone and G-CSF only protocols are also available. This mononuclear cell-rich leukapheresis product is extracted using continuous flow centrifugal technology directly into the collection bag.
